Lighter winds.
Today the wind slowed a bit. I got in some flights with the S1-A ringmaster and all went well. I dug some worms and went fishing in the river nearby. As usual I hooked a trout on the first cast and not a nibble after that. I've taken 3 trout so far this season and they all bit on the first cast. Stocked trout are not that smart. Or tasty. I wonder if the flip up sunglasses made it to LA in the plane box? Another Wal-Mart find.

Mowed the lawn.
It stopped raining today. Still windy and cool. I sharpened the mower blades and fueled the mowers for the first time since last October. The small mowers started right away. the riding mower started and stopped. I took the float bowl off and no fuel flowed out. I cleaned the bowl and twiddled the float up and down until the needle valve unstuck and fuel began to flow. It ran well after that. It's been windy here since early March and I'm sick of it. We had a free dinner on the state Monday. I had gotten the free fishing license and caught 2 10 inch brook trout in the river near by. They were stocked and the meat was white and mushy and tasteless. But it was a free meal none the less. And with three days of rain the river is approaching flood stage and the temp has dropped into the low 50's with 25 mph winds. Not quite opening day conditions but close.

Old law.
In this universe every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Therefore if it is getting warmer someplace it is getting colder someplace else. How come I have never heard of ice age glaciers from the South Pole region? I watch most of the shows on cave men and glaciers and no mention of the South Pole. Action reaction? Colder in the north warmer in the south?

Handle bars.
I dug out the original bars that came with my motorcycle. The rise is 4 inches compared to 12 inches for the buckhorn bars that generally come with this model. If it ever warms up I will reinstall them.
Here's why the oceans are as high as they are.
It is a fact that the ocean water levels were once much lower than they are now. It's because the ice caps we have now were melted back then. It's a fact that ice expands when frozen. Also snow is loaded with air. This expansion raises the water level. You can do a simple experiment to prove melting ice lowers the water level. Put enough water in a container to float a cubic foot of ice. Mark the water level just as soon as the water levels off from the installation of the ice cube. Let the ice melt without moving the container. The water level will be lower after the ice melts.

Ready to ship.
I got in a couple of flights on the new ringmaster yesterday. Then I took the gear and engine off and put it in the box. I ripped the covering on the left wing tip in the process. I stopped at Wal-Mart and picked up two pairs of flip up sunglasses one of whick I put in the box. I screwed the lid on and ran the belt sander over the edges as the luan has many slivers sticking up. I also wrapped some duct tape over the edges for more protection. Fed Ex web site says 90 bucks to ship and UPs wants 150. Both services are available at the closest store so we will see.The last picture is of the plane upside down. I can never get these things in the right order.

How poor is it?
Plainfield is so poor, the KKK has a 75 year old black and a 48 year old white woman as representatives here. And they live outdoors year round.
Plainfield is so poor, we are going to name Dead Man's Curve on a straight away.
Plainfield is so poor, we are going to name Dead Man's Curve on a straight away.
It's charging.
I removed the bad battery from the motorcycle last week. Today I hooked it up to the good battery in the riding mower. I put a volt meter in it to check the voltage and started the bike. 12.23 volts to 14.5 volts. So nothing else seems to be wrong. Still windy and rainy here and is expected to be for several more days. The river is too low for the opening day of fishing season anyway. Speedometer cable assembly for the El Camino and a brake pad from Year One and an engine from Fox due in shortly. I tried to get to New London to check on the painter but the traffic jam from the crash on I-395 was so bad I turned around and went home. A fatal last week and a tanker rollover this week a couple miles apart.

Mirrors are in.
The outside mirrors for the El Camino came in yesterday, right on time. Real nice chrome. I figured out how to get the windshield trim on with all the missing metal in that area. I'll trim some of the urethane glue off and install the trim hiding the glue. A few dabs of urethane glue will hold the trim in place and still be able to remove it if necessary. I added three more box supports to the planes shipping crate, just in case. I want to fly it a few more times to see how it goes then I'll see if UPS will ship it. The post office wont take it it's too big they said. Fed Ex on stand by.
