Why, with all the speeding penalties on pit road, don't nascar drivers use a GPS unit for speed information??
And another thing; You can lead a liberal to water but he will never understand why.

Nope. No speedo. No GPS, just Tach and RPM based off the pace car.
Then the whole schmear is timed by "segment."
If you're too quick through any given segment, you lose.
That's why having a pit box in the last segment before the exit is a bonus. After the pit stop, you've spent so much time, even if you're WTFO on the whole way out you can't go quick enough to speed.
Maybe the Dick Tracy wrist radio/TV has a gps option.
